Working Overseas
When working overseas you will want to find out as much information about the country and job. Take some time before you go and get to know the country and/or job you will be in.
Job Offers Overseas
Research the company - Before accepting any job offer, you should get to know the company, it's history, it's employees... it's future. Try and speak with current and past employees and ask them questions about the company and your position.
Employment Conditions - Working out the employment conditions in a contract before accepting a job can make the difference between success and failure. Settle on money, hours, holidays, bonuses, flights, housing, transportation, insurance, health care, visas, etc.
Read the contract - read through the entire contract and don't be afraid to ask questions. If you are working overseas in a country where English is not the first language, there may be translation issues in the contract. It's best to discuss each part of the contract with your employer, so nothing is lost in translation. In some cases it might be best for a local lawyer to read over and explain the contract to you.
When working overseas it is hard to prepare for everything, but with with the right information you can be ready for just about anything.
